Obituary: Marion Jean (Lang) Martin, 83, of Middletown

Marion will be remembered first and foremost for her wittiness, mastery of debate, and devotion to her family.

Marion Jean (Lang) Martin passed away peacefully November 1, 2018 at the age of 83. She was born September 28, 1935 in Natrona Heights, PA. Marion spent the majority of her life traveling with her late husband Robert Gene Martin. Throughout their travels they spent many memorable times across the world where they were blessed with four beautiful daughters.

Marion is survived by her daughters: Dianne and her husband William Evans of Richmond, TX, Deborah and her husband Craig Jones of Naugatuck, CT, Donna and her husband Jerry Michaud of Middletown, CT, and Darlene and her husband Joseph Scherer of Brownstown, MI. Marion is also survived by 9 grand-children and 9 great grand-children.

She is predeceased by her parents Edwin and Signe (Anderson) Lang and her brothers Floyd Roland and Edward Theodore Lang.

Marion loved spending time with her friends and extended bowling family. She will be remembered first and foremost for her wittiness, mastery of debate, and devotion to her family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9 at 10:00 am at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in the State Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown.

Family and friends may call on Thursday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Doolittle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Washington Street, Middletown, CT 06457 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
