Obituary: Paul J. 'Zeke' Vasques, 67, of Middletown

Paul J. “Zeke” Vasques, 67, of Middletown, beloved husband of the late Sharon (Gayeski) Ceplenski, died suddenly Saturday February, 17, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital.

Paul was born in Hartford son of the late, Paul F. Vasques and Josephine C. (Weiss) Vasques. Prior to his retirement Paul was a radar engineer with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. Paul was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a Bronze Star recipient serving with the U.S. Army. He was a proud member of the Hartford Jazz Society where he played the saxophone, clarinet and flute.

Paul is survived by his loving sister, Nina Vasques of Wethersfield, a loving brother, Nicholas of New Britain, a niece, Elizabeth Kosack of Berlin, Germany, and a nephew, Karl Kosack of Paris, France. Paul will be missed by many friends.

A funeral liturgy will be held Saturday February 24th at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 51 Freestone Ave., Portland, CT. Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Portland. Memorial contribution may be sent to Soldiers', Sailors' and Marines' Fund, 864 Wethersfield Avenue Hartford, CT 06114.
