Obituary: Rosa J. Guzman-Rivera, 66, of Middletown

Rosa worked as a youth officer for the State of Connecticut. She loved music, dancing, cooking, laughing and her family unconditionally.

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Rosa J. Guzman-Rivera, 66, of Middletown, loving wife of Richard Rivera, passed away peacefully, December 20, 2020 at her home with family by her side.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 2, 1954, a daughter of the late Oscar and Octavia (Negron) Guzman.

She worked as a youth officer for the State of Connecticut. She loved music, dancing, cooking, laughing, and could always tell a good joke.

Her heart was always with her family. She was helpful and compassionate and always brought out the best in whoever she met. She had a beautiful smile that will be missed. Rest peacefully.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her son, John R. Rivera and his wife, Lisa, of Meriden; her daughter, Heather M. Rivera and her fiancé, Justin Wilson, of Meriden; her sisters, Gladys Guzman of New Britain, Milagro Silva of Newington, the late Irma Cruz and granddaughter, Eralyn Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. (You can view the service via livestream by going to her web-page on Tuesday. (COVID-19 precautions and face covering are required at the cemetery).

Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford.
