Obituary: Russell Foster Dzialo-Evans, 79, of Middletown

Russell worked as a computer programmer with Institute of Living. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Russell Foster Dzialo-Evans, 79, of Middletown, died Saturday at Middlesex Health Care Center. Russ was born in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late Burr Evans and Helen (Osgood) Evans. Prior to his retirement Russ was employed as a computer programmer with Institute of Living.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army. Russ enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching/playing sports. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Russ is survived by a daughter, Chelsea Morrissey and her husband Matt of Barrington, MA, a son, Matthew Evans of Plainville, MA, close friend, Christie Dzialo, two sisters, Margaret Mintz of East Sandwich, MA, Smiley Hiller of Durham, CT, two brothers, Brewster Evans of Greensboro, NC, Burr Evans, of Yonkers, NY, and four grandchildren (William, Piper, Samuel and Tess).

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 10th at 11 a.m. at the Connecticut State Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Those who wish may send memorial donations to the American Red Cross.
