Stanley, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was employed with Stanley Works, Fafnir Bearing and Dayon Manufacturing in New Britain.

Stanley F. Dobek, 91, of Middletown, formerly of New Britain, beloved husband of Millie (Grigas) Dobek, was peacefully called to the Lord, on Saturday June 23, 2018, with his family at his side.
Stanley was born in New Britain, son of the late Frank and Stella (Buchasz) Dobek. Prior to his retirement, Stanley was employed with Stanley Works, Fafnir Bearing and Dayon Manufacturing in New Britain. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army. Stanley enjoyed Polka music, especially the Jimmy Sturr Band, traveling cross country, the racetracks and playing the harmonica. He was a sports enthusiast including being an avid Red Sox fan and Patriots.

Besides his wife Millie, Stanley is survived by two daughters, Irene Dobek of Windsor, Lorraine Dobek of Middletown, a son, David Dobek and his wife Julie, of California, a sister-in-law, Florence Grigas of Rocky Hill, also three nephews, Steven Grigas, Jim Grigas, Ted Kozlowski, and two nieces Claire Murphy, Maryann Krajcik and their families, a dear cousin, Gene Dobek and several other cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edmond Dobek, John Dobek and his wife Mary, a sister, Sophie Kozlewski and her husband Chester.
The family would like to thank Water’s Edge Health Care, Westfield Fire Department, Middlesex Hospital, and Hunter’s Ambulance for all their care and compassion.

A funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, June 28th at 12 p.m. at Saint Andrew Church, 396 Church Street, New Britain. Burial with military honors will be privately held at Saint Sebastian Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Saint Andrew Church or to the charity of your choice
