Obituary: William J. Burke Sr., 71, of Middletown

William J. Burke Sr., 71, formerly of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Apple Rehabilitation of Cromwell. William was born in Buffalo, New York on January 10, 1947, son of the late Robert E. & Anne (Rindalo) Burke. He was predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen A. (McCarthy) Burke. Prior to his retirement William was self-employed. He was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge of Middletown and American Legion.

William is survived by two daughters, Karen Hall and her husband Robert of Cromwell, Kristin Palo and her husband John of Durham, and a son, William J. Burke, Jr. and his wife Catharine of Durham, four brothers, Robert E. Burke, Jr of Vermont, Richard Burke of New York, Leonard Burke of Avon, and Margaret Burke-Hall of Unionville and his seven grandchildren, Danielle and Devan Hall, John III, Julia and Rylee Palo and Gavin and Mason Burke. Predeceased by his Sister Kathleen Jarret, Brother Dennis Burke, and Sister Maureen Pollard.

William will be missed by many. His family is very thankful and appreciative of all the loving care he received at Apple Rehabilitation of Cromwell.

Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street Middletown on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM. Burial will be private. Those who wish to make memorial contributions may do so to American Cancer Society in honor of his wife Kathleen A. Burke.

A Funeral service will be held Thursday June 28th at 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends may call prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m.
