‘Out-Of-Control’ Intoxicated Man Threatened Hospital Staff: Middletown Police

The man is accused of telling staff that he would come back with friends to attack them and would bring a gun, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — An “out-of-control” intoxicated man is accused of threatening staff in the Emergency Department at Middlesex Hospital, including saying he would come back with friends to attack them and would bring a gun, according to police.

Middletown Police responded to the hospital at about 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 20 on the report that a patient, Adam Dzilenski was acting “out-of-control” and threatening staff, according to the police report. Dzilenski, 28, of Plantsville, had been sent to the ER earlier due to intoxication, police said.

A nurse told police that Dzilenski was verbally combative with staff from the beginning. He was also accused of “yelling and screaming, attempting to bite staff, and was out of control,” according to the police report.

Dzilenski had to be placed in four-point restraints and was informed that if he didn’t calm down, he would be sedated, the report states.

At that point, Dzilenski is accused of saying that when he got out, he would come back with friends and attack staff and threatened, at one point, to bring a gun back, according to the police report.
