Police: Middletown Man Hit Girlfriend in Face with Golf Putter
The man was arrested on assault charges.

A Middletown man was arrested after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in he face with a golf putter.
Police responded to a Silver Street residence on May 5 on a report of a domestic dispute, police said.
Officers saw that the female victim was bleeding. She told police that there was an argument between her and Terence Wilford, 47 and that she began walking away from him.

He then allegedly got a golf putter and swung it at her. He hit her in the face and again in the arm, according to police.
The putter broke when it hit her in the arm and caused a cut. She called 911 and Wilford allegedly hid the putter in a closet.

Wilford said to police that she hurt herself falling down two days before. Police didn’t buy that story since the cut was fresh. He then tried telling them that his daughter and the victim got into a fight the day before.
He was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
