Emergency Crews Use Jaws of Life to Rescue Woman After Middletown Accident

The accident occurred near Washington and Pearl Streets Friday, Aug. 21.

A two-vehicle accident near Washington Street and Pearl Street resulted in emergency personnel using the Jaws of Life to extricate a woman from one of the cars.

“Earlier today members of Platoon 3 responded to a two car MVA [motor vehicle accident],” City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 said via Facebook. “Crews from Engine 3 and Rescue 1 worked to stabilize a vehicle that had rolled on its side. EMS was provided, and crews worked quickly to extricate the patient who was pinned in the vehicle.”

The Middletown Press reported the car’s roof was removed in the rescue operation. The woman was transported to the hospital.
