Price Chopper in Middletown Changing Name, Offerings

The supermarket chain is in the midst of changing to Market 32. Half of all stores will be changed within five years.

Price Chopper will be changing its name and food shopping experience in Connecticut stores soon.

The Golub Corporation, the parent company of Price Chopper said that the new name will be Market 32.

Three stores in New York and Massachusetts will be the first to change.

Another 10 to 15 stores will be changed in another wave and more than half of the chain’s 135 stores will be converted within five years. The company didn’t specify when specific stores would change.

Price Chopper has stores in Bristol, Mansfield, Middletown, Newington, Putnam, Southington, Torrington, Vernon and Windsor.

“Market 32 represents the next leap forward for our company. We have evolved from the Public Service Market to Central Market to Price Chopper by responding to customers’ changing needs over time and Market 32 is the next natural progression for us,” said Neil Golub, Price Chopper’s executive chairman of the board.

Price Chopper brand products, AdvantEdge card savings and weekly features and special programs will be incorporated into Market 32.
