Recycling Update - Important Happenings In Middletown

Dear Middletown Recyclers,
Please take note of the programs and deadlines approaching.

October 20, 2023 - Deadline to schedule a curbside bulk waste pick up and brush pickup. After October 20th, bulk waste and brush pick up will be suspended through the winter. Call the public works office at 860-638-4850 to schedule the brush pick up. Bulk payments must be made in person at the public works office by the 20th.

November 1, 2023 - Phase 2 of the food scrap co-collection program starts in the Sanitation District. Customers using the cart service in the Sanitation District must use the official city orange bags for trash and green bags for food scraps. November 13, 2023 - Leaf collection begins. Residents are encouraged to put leaves in brown paper bags. Otherwise, leaves can be raked to the curb and city crews will circulate through the city twice. More information is available here: https://www.middletownct.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=535
