Resident Airlifted After Suffering Burns In Middletown Structure Fire

Westfield firefighters battled a weekend blaze.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A person was airlifted to a burn center after a weekend fire in Middletown, fire officials said.

At about 9 a.m. Saturday, a Westfield Fire Department crew was called to the area of Delwood Avenue and and Grove Hill Road for a reported structure fire. Initial reports indicated there was an explosion and one person was injured, fire officials said.

The fire was quickly put under control, fire officials said.
