Revised Plans re: Rte 9 Workshops This Week

From John Hall Jonah Center

We have recently learned that CT DOT’s first announcement about this coming week's public events on Route 9 traffic signals was misleading. These events will NOT take the form of a presentation followed by a public hearing and testimony. (See revised announcement below.) Rather, DOT officials will be present with plans on display, ready to discuss these with members of the public throughout the sessions. You may arrive at any time during the sessions listed. We urge you to think about and express your thoughts about the proposed removal of a northbound exit to the Arrigoni Bridge at Hartford Avenue (see photo above). A more detailed article on the issues may be found on the Jonah Center website here. I hope you will attend.

"Revised AnnouncementConnecticut’s Department of Transportation has scheduled 2 public “Open House” events for the public to learn about the DOT project to remove the traffic signals from Route 9 in Middletown. These meetings will take place in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 10 p.m. Members of the public may stop by any time during the open house hours to learn more about the project, ask questions, and provide feedback."
