Road Closures Announced For Middletown Pride Parade & Festival

Police announce several road closures that will be in effect for Middletown's first Pride Parade and Festival.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Police have announced several road closures that will be in effect for the Middletown Pride Parade on Saturday, June 15. The parade begins at 2 p.m. with an approximate end time of 3:30 p.m. At the end of the parade, there will be a Pride Festival at the South Green located on Main Street between Old Church Street and Pleasant Street. The festival is slated to end at 7 p.m.

Road closures will include Main Street from Union Street to St. John’s Square, and Washington Street (Rte. 66) from High Street to DeKoven Drive. Those roads will be closed to traffic starting at approximately 1 p.m., according to police.

Motorists traveling over the Arrigoni Bridge from Portland will be directed down Hartford Avenue to Route 9. Motorists traveling on Washington Street (RT 66) will be detoured at High Street.

Once the parade concludes, Main Street will remain closed from William Street to Union Street and will reopen at the conclusion of the event, according to police.
