Road Construction Alert In Middletown

Officials are advising motorists of a road construction project that will take place in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Officials are advising motorists of a road construction project that will take place on Westfield Street in Middletown. Westfield Street will be milled over the next two nights, Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Work will commence near the convenience store at the intersection of Newfield and Westfield Street at approximately 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., according to the Public Works Department. Officials advise anyone traveling in this area to expect delays and to seek alternate routes (i.e. Washington Street).

The areas affected on Tuesday night will be from Newfield Street to Westmont Drive (across from Spencer School).

Wednesday evening will start in that vicinity and proceed to Nejako Drive. Expect delays in this area.

Construction on Barbara Road will continue all this week and should end either Friday or Monday.

It is expected that paving will begin on Monday, Oct 21.
