On Memorial Day!

Rose Gardens Planted for CT Trees of Honor Memorial!

With the assistance of Jane Harris of the Middletown Garden Club and the North East Chapter of Aetna’s Veterans Employee Resource Group - AetVets (led by Christopher Macdonald and Jade Scangarello), the CT Trees of Honor Memorial in Veterans Memorial Park in Middletown welcomes the addition of two new rose gardens near the Flag Ceremonial Plaza and close to the feature sculpture First Tear.

Designed by the Middletown Garden Club, the gardens takes the form of a teardrop shape and will feature ever-blooming roses and short grasses. The Memorial honors all CT veterans and especially honors our state’s fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to our country while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Aetna Veteran volunteers and community members installed the gardens on Memorial Day:
