Russell Library Has A New Library System
Fom the LION (Libraries Online) consortium to LCI (Library Connection, Inc)

The Russell Library is moving from the LION (Libraries Online) consortium to LCI (Library Connection, Inc) on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
Why are we moving to a new library consortium?
There are many reasons, including:
- Significantly lower annual operations fees
- LCI’s innovative practices and user-friendly online catalog
- Russell’s geographic proximity to other LCI consortium libraries (such as Portland, Cromwell, Berlin, and others)
- 1.2 million more items will become available for borrowing via other LCI libraries
What do I need to do?
Not much! All patron accounts will transfer automatically. This includes all Libby accounts.

If you have any items checked out on your card, they will transfer automatically to the new system. Any holds you have placed will also transfer automatically.
The only thing that will not transfer is your reading history. If you wish to keep your reading history, simply login to your account, click on Reading History and then Download to Excel. NOTE: You must do this by Wednesday, November 24th.

Changes to Holds
To ensure we (and LION libraries) get materials back in a timely manner, you will be able to place holds on Russell Library items only from November 1st - December 8, 2021.
Changes to Auto-renewals
Again, to ensure we (and LION libraries) get materials back in a timely manner, auto-renewals will be turned off from November 1st - December 8, 2021. No worries, though! Russell Library is fine-free, so late charges will not accrue to your card.
