Search Continues For Missing Mom, Baby: Middletown Police

Silver Alerts have been issued for a mother and her 3-week-old baby who have been missing since May 6, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police are continuing to seek the public’s help with finding 32-year-old Brigette Wood and her 3-week-old son Zion Gonzalez, officials said in an update on Wednesday.

Wood was last seen on Eastern Drive in Middletown on May 6, before she “voluntarily stopped communicating with family,” according to police.

“The police and family have been unable to reach her to confirm the well-being of Wood and Gonzalez,” officials wrote in a news release. “Wood has been known to frequent the City of Hartford, Groton City, and New London but has no known ties to the City of Middletown.”

Wood is approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt and gray hoodie.

Zion Gonzalez is a 3-week-old boy, weighing about 5 to 6 pounds, according to police.

Police said Wood is known to associate with her son’s father, 40-year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez, who lives in New London. She is known to operate a white 2018 Honda Accord with Connecticut registration number CT BE68631.
