Family:
Single Mother of 2 Boys
Christian, Son- 13
Joshua, Son- 11
Experience: Planning & Zoning Commissioner
Family in government: I am first generation politician
The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
I want to continue to advocate for families to have affordable housing, access to quality food options, have reasonable access to transportation, and have better job opportunities. All of these issues are synonymous when it relates to family welfare and community growth.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I have experience legislatively sitting on State boards and commissions as a Co-Chair, I work in public sector in Workforce Development, I have personal lived experience with Domestic Violence which led to homelessness and affordable housing issues as well as transportation issues. I also have legal experience handling hearings, and trials and motion drafting for child and family welfare issues.
Accomplishments:
Being appointed by the Commissioner of Dept of Labor to the Governors Workforce Council, being part of the Housing Task Force Advisory Board for Columbus House, helping to draft testimony for legislation on housing, transportation, benefits cliffs, and zoning matters.
Other issues:
Making sure there’s equitable transportation for families. Middletown has improved our transit however, we can make better strides to accomplish more for our families. This will expand our workforce opportunities which in turn would assist with housing. In order to afford housing, families need better jobs and access to these jobs.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I can handle whatever job duties are given to me and super exceeding them. I avail myself all the time when it’s about community and pressings matters. I extend my time and efforts to other communities as well because partnerships are key.
