Snapchat App Leads to Slap: Middletown Police [UPDATED]

A man and a woman allegedly got into a fight over a photo posted on an app.

Editor’s Note: This article has been edited to add in a second arrest stemming from the alleged incident.

A 22-year-old Middletown man and a 23-year-old Middletown woman are accused of a physical altercation, Middletown Police said.

“It was determined that the reason for this altercation was over a Snapchat picture,” Middletown Police said in the arraignment report.

Snapchat is a photo and video messaging app, where posts can exist for people to view no more than 10 seconds.

Middletown police responded to a reported domestic dispute between a man and woman at Vinal Technical School, 60 Daniels St., on Tuesday, May 26, at approximately 6:49 p.m.

Upon arrival, they encountered Algen Enamorado, 23, of Middletown, and Dillon Milardo, 22, of Middletown. The two were separated and interviewed.

“During the course of this investigation, it was revealed that the accused [Enamorado] had slapped and bit the victim, causing multiple injuries,” police said. “These actions were admitted by the accused and confirmed by the victim.”

Milardo, 22, of Middletown, was issued a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace in the second degree.

“During the course of this investigation, it was revealed that the accused [Milardo] had physically grabbed on to the arms of the victim to keep her from exiting a vehicle when she tried, to,” police said.

He reportedly admitted to doing so, police said.  A witness also confirmed the alleged altercation.

Enamorado was arrested on the following charges:

  • Breach of peace
  • Assault in the third degree

Both were issued a May 27 court date and a full Conditions of Released Family Violence, which prevents the two from having any contact until their court appearance.
