Special Election To Take Place As Scheduled In Middletown
City Hall will be closed due to the snow, but the special election to fill the vacant seat of late State Rep. Quentin "Q" Williams is on.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — The special election to fill the vacant seat of late Middletown State Rep. Quentin “Q” Williams will be held as scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 28, despite the inclement weather.
Williams, 39, was killed Jan. 5 when his vehicle was struck by a wrong-way driver on Route 9 in Cromwell. The other driver was also killed in the crash.
Williams was a Democrat who represented Middletown in the 100th District.

Democrat Kai Belton and Republican Deborah Kleckowski are vying to fill his seat. Belton is a licensed master social worker and is currently a Youth Mobile Crisis clinician at Middlesex Health. Kleckowski previously served on Middletown’s Common Council and currently serves on the South Fire Commission.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Middletown City Hall and other non-essential city buildings will be closed on Tuesday due to the snow storm, officials announced.
Officials said the Town Clerk’s Office and the Registrars of Voters Office will remain open to administer the special election.
