Veteran Donates Flag to Middlesex Hospital

During Vincent Smith, III's deployment, an American flag was flown over Afghanistan during a mission, in honor of Middlesex Hospital.

On Monday, November 9, former Technical Sergeant Vincent Smith, III, (at left in photo) a patient care technician at Middlesex Hospital, made a special presentation to Hospital President/CEO, Vincent G. Capece, Jr., at the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce annual Support the Troops breakfast.

In 2013, Smith served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Aero Evacuation Communications for the 455th Expeditionary Aero Evacuation Squadron, Bagram, Afghanistan. During his deployment, an American flag was flown during an aero evacuation mission over the skies of Afghanistan, in honor of Middlesex Hospital.

At the breakfast, Mr. Smith presented the flag to Mr. Capece, in order to thank Middlesex Hospital for the overwhelming support provided to him by the Hospital during his deployment. The flag and accompanying certificate are now on permanent display in the Hospital.
