Witness The Solar Eclipse on April 8
People who have experienced a full solar eclipse say it is a unique and moving experience. Connecticut residents can drive to northern Vermont and witness the event from almost anywhere, but a rural environment is recommended to experience the quieting of birds and insects. Read more here.

Litter Cleanup Event -- Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m.We need volunteers to help pick up litter along River Road in Middletown. When the weather is right, after a warm rainy 50 degree night, wood frogs will leave their shelters to congregate in a vernal pool in Maromas where they raucously compete for mates. CT-DOT is planning another workshop (with presentation) on the Route 9 Traffic Signal Removal Project. We’ve been told this will take place on the Wesleyan campus, but as of this writing, we don’t know the exact location or the time. Presumably, this meeting will be posted on CT DOT’s list of public meetings here.

Legislative UpdateHere is a list of bills before the Connecticut General Assembly known to be of interest to individuals within the Jonah Center and Ecoin network. Our legislators need to hear what we care about. Instructions for finding the contact information for your state legislators and how to submit testimony are included.
