State Cops Track Down Driver Who Hit Cruiser In Middletown And Fled
A hit-and-run-driver hit a state police cruiser in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A driver was tracked down on the far end of Route 9 after hitting a police cruiser then fleeing the scene on Route 9 late last week, state police said.
State police released details of the May 3 incident Wednesday.
According to a crash report, at 8:29 a.m. that day, a 58-year-old veteran of the state police was heading north on Route 9 in the left lane in a department Malibu and, just before Exit 21, slowed for an accident scene.

A Nissan Altima with a 30-year-old Old Saybrook man behind the wheel came up from behind and tried to quickly change lanes, only to hit the cruiser on the right rear bumper and passenger side fender, according to a crash report.
The trooper was not injured, but the man left the scene.
