Three Sent To Hospital After Middletown Car Crash
One of the involved vehicles had earlier fled a traffic stop, according to police.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A driver who fled the scene of a police stop crashed into two vehicles near the Arrigoni Bridge June 5, according to police.
An officer stopped a Mercedes Benz for a traffic violation on Main Street near Hartford Avenue around 8 p.m. The operator acknowledged the officer and then sped off, police said. The driver went through a red light and narrowly missed traffic near the Arrigoni Bridge.
The officer got back in his vehicle and came upon a three-car crash involving the Mercedes Benz.

The Mercedes entered the center median near the bridge, struck a guardrail and then struck two other vehicles, police said. All three vehicles sustained heavy damage. All three vehicle operators were transported to the hospital.
Police haven't identified the Mercedes Benz operator as of Thursday morning. The crash remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact police at 860-638-4063.
