Trooper, Firefighter Injured In Crash On Route 9 In Cromwell: Reports

The state trooper and firefighter were hospitalized after being struck by a driver while at the scene of a crash early Wednesday morning.

CROMWELL, CT — A state trooper and a firefighter were hospitalized after being struck by a driver while responding to a crash on Route 9 in Cromwell early Wednesday morning, according to multiple reports.

WFSB 3 reports the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. while crews responded to an overturned vehicle in the area of Exits 20N and 19 on Route 9 South in Cromwell.

State police told NBC Connecticut that a driver spun out after hitting a patch of ice and struck the trooper and firefighter.
