U.S. Marshals, Police, Nab Hartford Shooting Fugitive In Middletown

A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Hartford was caught Friday in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Connecticut U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Hartford Police Department and the Middletown Police Department Friday arrested a Connecticut man wanted on manslaughter charges.

Barrett Rickets, 43, has been charged in Hartford with manslaughter in connection with a stabbing that occurred on New Britain Avenue in the city on May 30, 2024.

Following the investigation, the Hartford Police Major Crimes Unit identified Barrett
Ricketts as one of the suspects, according to the U.S. Marshals.

The Hartford Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service investigation led them to a
residence on Portland Street in Middletown, where Ricketts was apprehended, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Ricketts was taken into custody, transported to the Hartford Police Department, and charged with
manslaughter, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Ricketts also has a violation of a supervised release warrant from federal court, authorities said.
