This Weekend In Middletown

Saturday November 10th - 7:30 - 10:30 am: American Legion Post 69, Freestone Ave, Portland, will be having their Famous SOS breakfast at their Legion Hall from 7:00am to 10:30am, Bacon, Sausage, Omelets (ham, cheese, or plain), Coffee, Tea, & Orange juice, and of course SOS. Tickets $6.00 for Adults.

5:00pm - Marine Corp 243rd Birthday on Nov. 10, 2018 at FIRST & LAST TAVERN, 220 Main Street, in Middletown, all Veterans and friends welcome. Free Buffet, Raffle will be held, all proceeds will go to Chapter No.1 VKVSW to help local Vets. Adults only please…

Join The Middletown Council of Veterans for a ceremony commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the end of the Great War, at 11:00 AM on Sunday, November 11th. The ceremony will be on Veterans Green on Washington Street. Below Is Last Years Event:
12:00 – 1:00pm The Greater Middletown Military Museum will hold an open house at the Museum located in Veterans Park, Middletown, to see the progress being made to display various items displayed. Light refreshments will be served. Projected Grand Opening is slated for Spring 2019.

The Laotian Veterans Monument Was Recognized Saturday October 13th At The Veteran's Park In Middletown. Next to the Monument is where The Greater Middletown Military Museum held an open house On That Day:

2:00 pm There will be the Annual Ceremony at the Veterans Cemetery on Bow Lane, Middletown.

There will also be a fundraiser for local vets at the 1st and Last Tavern on Main Street in Middletown starting at 5 pm.

Also Monday November 12th:

10:00 am Middlesex Health Care, 100 Randolph Rd. Middletown, Ceremony & Breakfast with their Resident Veterans. Flag raising ceremony to be held outdoors. Full breakfast to follow. Please RSVP to Carol in recreation at 860-344-0353.

1:00 – 1:55 pm - Scott D. Sadinsky, Principal, Frank Ward Strong Middle School, 191 Main Street, Durham, is asking for some Veterans to speak to the students and also perform a Flag folding and explanation of what each fold represents at their student assembly. If available to attend and speak to the students, please contact the School Office at (860) 349-7222 with your name that you will attend.
