Veterans Want To Save The Ct. Veteran's Cemetery In Middletown

Before It Runs Out Of Space "By 2027."

(From “Save our Cemetery (SOC)”)

In November of 2024 Middletown's City Leaders voted unanimously not to sell some 90 acres of open space to the state for the expansion of the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown so it would not run of space for future burials.

About two dozen American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Auxiliaries, and Marine Corps League posts have adopted the “Save our Cemetery (SOC)” resolution to hopefully keep the cemetery opened for future Ct. Veterans when they pass away.

The land they hope to get is is among five parcels totaling 256 acres of land on Bow Lane and parts of Cedar Lane and Reservoir Road, near Connecticut Valley Hospital.
