Victim Identified in Fatal Middletown Crash: UPDATE

One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-car crash in Middletown on Thursday night.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — William Fetter, 67, of Middletown, has been identified as the victim in a three-car crash in Middletown on Thursday evening, according to the Middletown Press.

Fetter was the operator of a Toyota Camry that was hit from behind at the intersection of Newfield Street and Fisher Road at about 6:54 p.m. The car spun around and was struck a second time. Fetter was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash and anyone with information is asked to call 860-638-4000.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — One person was killed in a three-car crash in Middletown on Thursday evening, according to police.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Newfield Street and Fisher Road at about 6:54 p.m.

A Toyota Camry was traveling north on Newfield Street, believed to be stopped to make a left turn on to Fisher Road, police said in a press release.

A Honda Pilot, traveling directly behind the Toyota collided rear-ended the Toyota, which spun around into the southbound lane of Newfield Street where it was struck for a second time (in the rear end) by a Volkswagen Passat traveling southbound, according to police.

The Toyota came to rest on east side of Newfield Street at the intersection of Fisher Road. The male operator of the Toyota Camry was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

“The operator of the Honda was transported to the hospital for injuries received during the crash, as well as the operator of the Volkswagen,” police said in the press release. “The passenger of the Volkswagen did not claim any injuries. No children were involved.

“The identities of all involved parties are being withheld at this time. The extent of the injuries of the survivors is unknown.”
