Victim Stabbed In Neck, Drinking Partner Arrested: Middletown Police

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A man was hospitalized after being stabbed in the neck at Palmer Field late Saturday night in Middletown, according to police.

Police responded around 11 p.m. on Aug. 8 to the area of Palmer Field, near 1 Bernie O’Rourke Drive, on the report of a stabbing.

Arriving officers found a man suffering from a “significant laceration to his neck,” according to police.

Police said the victim was provided medical attention and taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

Officers also found 59-year-old Raymond Rogala in the area, according to police.

During the investigation, police said officers learned that Rogala and the victim had been drinking together when an argument occurred.

Rogala is accused of pulling a knife during the altercation and stabbing the victim in the neck, according to police.

Police said Rogala was taken into custody and taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during the incident. After being medically cleared, police said Rogala was taken to Middletown Police Headquarters and arrested.

Rogala was charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
