Vinal Technical High School's December Students of the Month

Vinal Tech honors the four student winners of Student of the Month for December, 2017.

As we celebrate a new year, we here at Vinal Technical High School are looking back to honor the students who earned the Student of the Month recognition for December 2017. As usual, all students who earn the Student of the Month nomination represent the positive values of Vinal Tech. These values include acting professional in the shops, being academically responsible, and being kind to all. We are pleased to say that (per usual) the list of students nominated for this honor was long, and the students selected represent those the teachers at Vinal consider a cut above the rest.

L to R: Eliza Almedina, Vincent Kulmacz, Dr. Niki Menounos, Mackenzie Frazer, Joseph Cardona

Grade 9: Vincent Kulmacz

Vinnie always works above and beyond what is required of him. He is determined to complete Algebra I early this year and begin a second course prior to completing his Freshman year of High School. He is kind, responsible and respectful, and is often seen helping his peers, even if that means putting his own work aside for the moment. Vinnie is not afraid to be friends with anyone and is the epitome of a true ally. He sticks up for the underdog, even at his own expense showcasing his truly kind-hearted soul. He never complains about what is handed to him and accepts whatever is thrown his way with a smile!

Grade 10: Mackenzie Frazer

Mackenzie is a pleasure to have in the classroom. Always acting with respect, Mackenzie works diligently whether he is in shop or academics, adhering to the rules and displaying professionalism and personal drive. He takes time and care to make sure his work exceeds classroom expectations. Mackenzie makes sure that everything he turns in is as excellent as it can possible be, always going back to correct any errors and working with his teachers and instructors to make sure that everything he does is as close to perfect as it can be!

Grade 11: Joseph Cardona

Joe works hard, always putting maximum effort into his school-related activities, a characteristic that has gotten him on the path to success early! As a sophomore, Joe earned his driver's license and secured a summer job at a manufacturing company. This year, he continues and thrives in that job as WBL. All of these are major accomplishments in general, but are made especially impressive due to Joe achieving them early in his high school career. He has earned all these successes in his trade area while still maintaining good grades
and effort in his academics, making him a truly well-rounded person and a model of the successful modern technical student.

Grade 12: Eliza Almedina

Eliza is the go to person when something needs to be done quickly and efficiently for Student Council or the Class of 2018 in general. She was instrumental in convincing kids to attend the Homecoming Dance, and worked tirelessly overall to make the event a smash success enjoyed by both teachers and students. She has displayed maturity on more than one occassion especially when it comes to "doing the right thing." All of these traits make Eliza a student to look up to in the eyes of her peers, and one who represents her 12th
grade class in the best possible way!
