Volunteer Opportunity: Help Build Middletown’s Next Nature Trail!

Thursday, July 17, 9-11 a.m.

We have a breakthrough opportunity on our landfill trail project, thanks to Middletown’s Land Use Department that is partnering with us. We need to gather a team to cut down weeds on top of the landfill so we can lay out the location for a wildlife viewing platform and a loop trail.

This park-like destination will be located to the left of the yellow star on the photo above. The star itself is the location of the recently-installed solar array (not shown in this photo). On Thursday, July 17, 9-11 a.m., we’ll be joined by some city staff (which is why this is a mid-week event.) We need people who can bring weed-whackers, scythes, machetes, or any other powered or unpowered hand tools to do some work and demonstrate public support for this great project. Here is a link to the post on the Jonah Center website. It includes a registration form. If you or anyone you know can join us, it will really help us take advantage of this opportunity to advance our project. Thanks for any help you can give – either by attending or by spreading the word.
