Wad Hayden and the Outliers at the Kate February 24

OLD SAYBROOK, CT - The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, “the Kate”, presents Ward Hayden and the Outliers on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 7:30 pm.

Hailing from Boston where they have won seven Boston Music Awards, Ward Hayden and the Outliers play a mix of old school country, early rock and roll, and blues. The band has been inspired by legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, Johnny Horton and Hank Williams. In 2015 they released “A Tribute to Hank Williams – Live!” which was recorded at a New Year’s Eve performance at The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 31, 2013 through to New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014.

The band’s latest album, "Free Country," was written and recorded during the pandemic and was financed by fans via crowdfunding. “The gift of funding from fans made it possible for us to take the time to make the album we wanted to make,” according to the band’s website. To express their gratitude, a free download of the entire album was offered throughout 2021.
