Wanted Man Sought In Middletown: Police
Police are asking for help finding a man wanted in connection with a domestic assault on Christmas morning.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown Police Department is asking for help with finding a man wanted in connection with a domestic assault on Christmas morning.
Abdias Cortes, 59, is accused of assaulting a woman around 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 25. Police said Cortes is accused of forcing the victim from her parked vehicle, punching her in the face repeatedly and threatening to kill her.
Cortes is wanted on an active arrest warrant on charges of violation of a protective order, second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree threatening.

Police said Cortes is known to operate a 2019 Nissan Sentra bearing CT BE45579 and frequents the area of Pearl Street and Clinton Avenue in Middletown.
“Cortes should be considered a danger to the public and citizens are encouraged not to approach him,” police wrote in a news release.
