Happy Winter Solstice Everyone! The first day of Winter is Monday, December 21, 2021 and it arrives at 10:59 a.m.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac "It is the day with the fewest hours of sunlight in the whole year." During the Winter Solstice "The Sun is directly overhead at “high-noon” on the solstice at the latitude called the Tropic of Capricorn. The next day, the path will begin to advance northward," from the Old Farmer's Almanac. The Nationaltoday.com article "Winter Solstice-December 21, 2021"also stated the first day of winter will have the shortest amount of daylight and the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere only due to the "tilt of the earth." The result "shorter nights & longer days" according to Nationaltoday.com which means spring is right around the corner-in three months with the Vernal Equinox.
