Woman, 23, Injured In Drive-By Shooting: Middletown Police

A driver pulled alongside the victim's vehicle and the passenger fired several shots into her vehicle, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A 23-year-old woman was hospitalized after being shot Wednesday night in Middletown, according to police.

Police were notified around 7:10 p.m. that a woman had been shot in the area of 53 Washington Street, according to Lt. Brian Hubbs.

Arriving officers found that the woman had been shot in the leg and back and was taken to Hartford Hospital for injuries that weren’t life-threatening. She has since been released, according to Hubbs.

Hubbs said that woman was traveling west on Washington Street when a dark-colored sedan pulled alongside her vehicle. The front seat passenger of the suspect vehicle “reached out the window and fired approximately three rounds” into her vehicle, Hubbs said.

The vehicle then left the scene at a high rate of speed, according to Hubbs.

Hubbs said the victim couldn’t identify the vehicle or shooter, and the passenger in her vehicle flagged down a Hunter’s Ambulance that was nearby, and she was treated immediately.
