Woman Found Dead Inside Apartment In Middletown: Police

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police are investigating the death of a woman who was found inside an apartment Tuesday afternoon.

Police and Westfield Fire personnel responded to the area of Town Colony Drive at 3:23 p.m. after receiving a report that a woman was "down in an apartment," according to a news release.

Officers then found the woman deceased inside the apartment, according to a news release.

Middletown police detectives are investigating the death as suspicious, according to a news release. The area remained an active crime scene into the evening hours, and police were asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continued.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no immediate threat to the public.

The woman's identity was not immediately released Tuesday. Police said additional information will be provided when appropriate.
