Woman Leaves Child in Car Thursday Evening: Police

An off-duty police officer observed a 4- to 5-year-old girl in a running car with no sight of an adult caregiver around, the Middletown Press reported.

The alleged incident took place at approximately 8:15 p.m. Thursday, July 9, near Main Street Market.

Police reportedly said the windows were open in the car and the child’s mother had gone into the Celtic Cavern to give creamer to the father.

Middletown resident Krista Pellerin, 31, was arrested for allegedly leaving a child younger than the age of 12 without supervision, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
