Xavier High School Moves Up in Boys Ice Hockey Poll

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The top 10 teams remained the same in the latest high school boys ice hockey weekly poll, but the positions changed considerably.

Ridgefield (8-1) retained the top spot after posting a trio of victories, but numbers two through eight are all occupied by different teams from the previous week.

Xavier moved up two spots to number two in this week's rankings.

The top 10 with records through Jan. 16:

2. Xavier (7-2)
3. New Canaan (6-2)
4. Northwest Catholic (8-1-1)
5. Fairfield Prep (4-3)
6. Hamden (4-2)
7. Notre Dame-West Haven (4-5)
8. Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks (8-1)
9. West Haven (6-1)
10. East Haven (7-0)

Also receiving votes: Simsbury (4-3), Notre Dame-Fairfield (2-5-1), Darien (2-5), Guilford (6-2), Woodstock Academy (7-0).
