YMCA Camp Ingersoll Outdoor Center Grows

Enjoy the outdoors with your family this spring and summer with an Outdoor Center Membership at YMCA Camp Ingersoll!

YMCA Camp Ingersoll sits on a beautiful 77 acre property in Portland, CT with open fields and a private beach on Job’s Pond. However, unless you had a child attending Ingersoll’s youth camp, you may have not been able to experience it. That has changing with the creation of YMCA Camp Ingersoll Outdoor Center. The Outdoor Center’s membership program allows the public to use the facility for a variety of recreational activities.

Outdoor Center members can hike through Ingersoll’s many trails, mountain bike, and use the center’s newly-renovated outdoor basketball court. Swimming and boating are available to members during weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6pm-8pm from May 30th-August 30th. Membership also includes discounts on birthday parties and overnight camping. This year, we are also introducing Campfire Fridays where member's can stop by for s'mores around a campfire on the last Friday in June, July, and August at 6:30pm.

The Center is open 12 months out of the year from sunrise to sunset with the exception of during the day camp season June 20th – August 26th, when on weekdays it will be open to members from 6:00pm to sunset. Summer weekends are ideal for Outdoor Center members with a YMCA lifeguard at shore and boats available to check out.
