2 Charged In Gunpoint Robbery At Milford Motel: Police

Two men are facing charges in connection with a robbery where they threatened a victim at gunpoint, according to police.

MILFORD, CT — Two men are facing charges after a robbery at gunpoint at a Milford motel, according to police.

Police responded to the Mayflower Motel at 4:30 p.m. July 27. They met with a victim who said that the suspect took an Uber to the motel to meet up with a friend.

Once the friend arrived, the suspect grabbed the victim's purse in an attempt to steal it, punched the victim, and threw the victim to the ground.

The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to shoot them. The suspect got in the friend's vehicle as they were attempting to flee, the vehicle ran over the victim.

The victim received medical attention for their injuries at the scene of the crime.

Police were notified later that day that the fleeing car was found in Bridgeport with two people inside. Police arrested Andre Bailey, 29, of Bridgeport, who they believe to be the driver in the robbery. The robbery suspect was not in the car when police stopped it.

Police investigated and identified Jaheim Weaver, 21, of Bridgeport, as the suspect in the robbery. Weaver turned himself in to police Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Weaver was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree threatening, and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on $120,000 bond and appeared in Milford Superior Court on Wednesday.

Bailey was charged with evading responsibility and operating with a suspended registration. He posted $1,000 bond and appeared in Milford Superior Court on Aug. 20.
