2 Lauralton Hall Basketball Coaches Fired: Report
School officials say they took swift action once they learned of the allegations.
MILFORD, CT — Two Lauralton Hall girls basketball coaches, head coach Mike Maratea and assistant Scott Raffone were terminated by the school this week over "inappropriate comments" they are accused of making, reports Joe Morelli, who is the schools sports editor for New Haven Register and GameTimeCT.
All we know is that the coaches were fired in the midst of a 1 and 10 record and Tom Blake has been named interim coach. No information or details have been released concerning what the two coaches are accused of saying, according to Morelli's report.
The schools president told GameTimeCT that they "learned of allegations of unacceptable and inappropriate comments" and action was taken. Both fired coaches told Morelli that they wish the school and the basketball program success.
