2 Men Charged In Milford Attempted Commercial Burglary: Police

Two Bridgeport men are facing charges in the attempted burglary of a building materials supplier in Milford, according to police.

MILFORD, CT — Two men are accused in an attempted commercial burglary in Milford that occurred in July, according to police.

Police were dispatched July 30 to Richard's Building Supply at 125 Old Gate Lane on a report of a burglar alarm.

Police saw two men fleeing on foot but were not able to catch them. Police investigated and found that the men attempted to take $375 worth of roofing shingles from the business, which were found in a vehicle the men left at the scene of the crime.

Police recently took custody of Ruben Rodriguez, Jr., 53, of Bridgeport, and Jose Rojas, 40, of Bridgeport.

Rodriguez and Rojas were charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal trespassing, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, and possession of burglary tools.

There was no court set bond for Rodriguez and he was released on a promise to appear in court.

Rojas was also charged with weapons in a vehicle and criminal possession of ammunition. He was held on $45,000 court-set bond and appeared in court Oct. 23.
