$3 Million Major Milford Road Renovation Project In The Works
City officials are hopeful that the state's budget woes won't impact funding for the project.

MILFORD, CT — City officials are hoping the state's budget woes won't impact a planned $3 million pavement and renovation project for Gulf Street, which is designed to help improve pedestrian safety and overall safety, the Milford Mirror reports.
The funds, which are expected to come from the state, will be spent on re-paving Gulf Street and a portion of Cherry Street. The road will be widened in some spots, especially near the Gulf Pond Bridge, the Milford Mirror reports. More sidewalks will be added for pedestrian safety and there is the possibly of adding a boardwalk alongside Gulf Pond if money is left over.
If the state pulls the transportation grant, the city will have to look elsewhere but officials would like to begin the project in the spring.
