7 Blighted Properties In Milford

Since the beginning of the fiscal year there have been 40 complaints of blight in Milford.

MILFORD, CT — Since July 1, there have been 40 complaints of blight in Milford and the Health Department says there are currently seven blighted properties, according to Board of Health meeting minutes.

The complaints are current as of Nov. 10. Properties that fail to comply with the orders definite in the issued Notice of Violations are referred to the City Attorney's office for enforcement action. The owners of these properties may be fined $100 for each day the violation(s) continue to exist after the compliance date specified in the notice of violation.

The Health Department is also in the process of filling the vacant sanitarian position.
