When I opened my refrigerator this morning the fresh, sweet scent of beautiful, red luscious strawberries awakened me. So obviously I felt the need to tell everyone! Yesterday morning we found ourselves at a little gem of a farm, in which we did our annual strawberry picking. Our little ones are five and one and absolutely love strawberries. (I mean LOVE strawberries; we go through about 6 lbs a week) Our wonderful neighbor suggested we try picking at Glendale Farms in Milford, in order to promote locate businesses and not to mention their price totally beat where we usually do our picking.
So off we went in our red and black outfits to pick our yummy strawberries. When we arrived there was no wait to get our basket, only a few little families like ours and a full field of strawberries awaiting us.
As soon as we started, I took pictures of course and my husband scouted out the best plants to pick from and rows to be in. As the picking progressed my daughter ran excitedly up the rows with handfuls of gorgeous strawberries to put into our basket. As my son sat in the hay next to the basket smashing and eating the strawberries one by one as soon as my daughter turned her back. When we were finished and our basket was overflowing with the juicy red deliciousness my little ones walked hand and hand like proud little “farmers” to pay for our harvest.

So to my surprise all in all it was a great "Sunday Fun-day" family activity for the four of us to do together on a beautiful summer day and I can't wait to make my famous strawberry jalapeno jam! (I will totally share the recipe for those who want it)
