MILFORD, CT — The 24th annual Milford Pirates Day will return to downtown Milford in June. The free event will bring pirate-themed festivities, live entertainment and family activities to multiple locations throughout the city, according to a statement from organizers.
Pirates Day will be June 7, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Milford Green, Lisman Landing and the Milford Historical Society.
The event is hosted by the Downtown Milford Business Association and sponsored by 7 Seas Restaurant & Pub.
The festival draws thousands of visitors each year and will once again feature its signature attraction: a live pirate ship landing in Milford Harbor accompanied by cannon fire.
Attendees can also take part in treasure hunts hosted throughout downtown businesses, enjoy live music and performances, and visit more than 60 vendors, storefronts and food trucks.
Pirates Day will also include mermaid appearances, family photo opportunities and children’s arts and crafts activities presented by the Giggling Pig of Milford.
Historical exhibits from Free Men of the Sea of Mystic will be featured through the Milford Historical Society.
This year also marks the return of “Pancakes with Pirates,” a limited-ticket breakfast experience before the main festival begins. Tickets cost $15.
“So many families grew up coming to Pirates Day dressed as pirates, and now they’re returning with their kids. That’s the magic of this event,” Maritza Quintuna, PR and social media director for the Downtown Milford Business Association, said in a statement.
Additional information and tickets for “Pancakes with Pirates” are available through the Downtown Milford Business Association.
