MILFORD, CT — A new yoga studio, six-unit residential development and golf performance center received approvals from the Planning and Zoning Board during its Tuesday meeting.
The board unanimously approved converting the former Bistro Basque restaurant at 13 River St. into a two-story yoga studio.

Plans call for a larger studio on the first floor, a smaller one upstairs, staff offices and an accessible restroom. The business is expected to operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, serving 15 to 30 adults at a time. The building's footprint will remain unchanged.
In a 7-2 vote, the board also approved six multifamily units at 21-29 Meadowside Road under the state's affordable housing law. The existing two-bedroom ranch at 21 Meadowside Road would be demolished, and the property would be merged with an adjacent 15-unit development, creating a 21-unit complex.
The new townhouse-style homes would each have two bedrooms and two parking spaces. Three visitor spaces are also planned.
Two of the six apartments would carry affordability restrictions—one for households earning up to 60 percent of the applicable median income and another for those earning up to 80 percent.
The board unanimously approved Sacred Heart University's golf performance center at Great River Golf Club, 130 Coram Lane.
The two-story facility would include three practice bays that can operate as simulators or open onto the driving range, allowing year-round use. Plans also include team locker rooms, offices, a lounge and an adjustable putting surface.
The approval requires the university to address 12 recommendations from the city engineer before receiving a zoning permit. The broader project would increase parking from 216 to 221 spaces.
