Anne Blake endorses Kerri Rowland for mayor

Recently I heard Kerri Rowland discuss her position as Registrar of Voters and the responsibilities, dedication and commitment that the job requires. She is an impressive reminder of how fortunate we are in Milford to have our vital voting process overseen by such a competent individual. Kerri serves as an example of how honest, hard-working officials, employees, and volunteers are truly the backbone of city governance. No one has to be reminded these days that local government determines the quality of our lives. Milford currently has an outstanding record for keeping our budgets in check while managing and improving our facilities, schools, public safety and all other departments and programs. Kerri is ready, willing and able to continue management of all that is Milford.

Those of you who know me, understand that my priorities are always what is best for Milford and especially our school children. There is no doubt in my mind that Kerri has the vision and strength to keep Milford’s public schools as a top priority. As a parent and coach she understands that education is most important to this or any community. She also has the facility to work in bipartisan ways with schools officials, as well as all civic-minded individuals to strengthen educational opportunities for all our children.

For many years, I have always appreciated Milford’s municipal elections where new ideas and local policies are articulated by candidates who are also our neighbors. Everyone is approachable and responsible for his or her own views. This year I have listened to the candidates on many occasions and there is no doubt in my mind that Kerri Rowland is by far Milford’s best choice. So, let’s continue to keep our city on its successful path by voting for Kerri Rowland to be Milford’s next mayor.
